Canadian Food Inspection Agency Processing Delays

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reviews, approves or restricts importations involving food, agricultural products and other goods controlled by CFIA.  Occasionally CFIA experiences processing delays which may affect some customs declarations submitted to CBSA.  These processing delays can lead to carrier delays when import declarations are submitted closer to a carrier's ETA to the border.  Proactive carriers who may wish to improve their visibility related to these processing delays can sign up to receive e-mail notifications from CFIA.  To subscribe to the e-mail notifications, click on the link and select Imports: AIRS, EDI and NISC updates and notices.
