U.S. Customs and Border Protection Announces New Payment Option for Commercial Truck User Fee

Posted 6/10/2016

U.S. Custom and Border Protection announced they are performing a pilot program where carriers can pre-pay their single-crossing border fee through the Decal/Transponder Online Procurement System (DTPOPS) website.  Introducing this type of payment option makes sense considering the break even point on paying the annual fee essentially occurs on the 31st border crossing / trip.

The pilot program will be conducted at the ports of  Buffalo, Detroit and El Paso for approximately one year.  Once the pilot program has been evaluated CBP may elect to introduce the program at all land border points that process commercial trucks.  Additional information can be found CBP's website or on the DTOPS website.
