Changes to the CBSA ACI Portal

CBSA has sent a notice TCC17-035 that the ACI Portal will be updated to provide new functionality on March 5, 2017.  The notice also advises carriers the ACI Portal will not be available between 04:00 and 10:00 EST on March 5th.  The notices advises carriers they must correct and re-submit trade documents prior to the upgrade otherwise the documents will need to be re-entered / re-submitted.  The notice can be found below.   

On March 5, 2017, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will update the eManifest Portal and introduce new functionality. This bulletin includes important information about:

1.     A scheduled period of unavailability

2.     Actions that users may need to take prior to the update and a default settings reset

3.     New eManifest Portal functionality

 

1) eManifest Portal Unavailable

To complete this update, the eManifest Portal will not be available on March 5, 2017, between 4:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. EST.

 

2) Actions that users may need to take prior to the update and a default settings reset

§  eManifest Portal users must correct and re-submit Trade Documents in the Rejected status prior to the March 5, 2017, update.  Trade Documents remaining in the Rejected status may not be available after the update and may need to be re-entered/re-submitted.

§  eManifest Portal user’s Customization settings for the Submitted List/View will be re-set to the default setting. 

 

3) New eManifest Portal functionality

Beginning March 5, 2017, highway carrier and freight forwarder eManifest Portal clients will have access to new notices and statuses including:

§  New and more informative highway cargo, house bill and close message document statuses.

§  A new Deconsolidation status for freight forwarders and carriers.  This status informs clients that the CBSA has authorized the transfer of cargo control from a consolidated shipment to the related secondary house bills that were submitted by a freight forwarder.   

§  A new Secondary Notices tab will replace the Received Documents tab.

§  A new Document Not on File secondary notice.

 

This update will improve carrier and freight forwarder clients’ eManifest Portal experience by providing greater insight into the status of shipments.  There is no action required to receive these updates as the new information will automatically appear in the Portal once implemented.

 

At this time, these new notices and statuses are not available to other eManifest Portal clients including warehouse operators and customs brokers.
